If you were not so insecure, why have a "no prayer breakfast?" Why not just have a breakfast? You are creating the kind of division you mock religion for! Why not just do what you do! Why make reference to something as arbitrary as prayer? You contradict your own values!

This goes right to the heart of the comment I left elsewhere on this website (the Big Questions page) in which I replied to the accusation that faith schools promote a "them and us" division. Humans will always create these kind of divisions, this is natural to us as a species. In this regard it is not surprising that the Labour Humanists should have a 'No Prayer Breakfast' - all it means is that their identity as a group is entirely determined by that which they reject (the "them"), that is, religious people; and because of the history of humanism in the West, more specifically, Christians. It is almost comical to consider that Christianity is the Labour Humanists raison d'être, without which what would be the point?

It's great to see fresh, creative ideas that have never been done before.
