Well fancy that, the "ordinary" Radio 1 listener who was quoted this week as complaining about the lack of religious output on the nation's fav music station was - an Archbishop's press officer. Yes, the Church of England is taking astroturfing to new levels!
Arun Arora was quoted by the Press Association as a "regular Radio 1 listener who had complained: "You would not have known, listening to Radio 1, what Easter was about, or the fact that Easter was a Christian festival just by listening to Radio 1."
It turns out the churches' lobbying effort to force a youth-orientated radio station into a propaganda outlet couldn't actually find any real listeners for its press relations work and so had to rely on one of its own press officers - Arora works for this blogs' fav archbish, the Archbisop of York - shoddy work chaps!
With huge hat tip to the York Press.
